This article has been selected as featured paper by Prof. Erdogan Kiran, Editor in Chief of Journal of Supercritical Fluids, and it will be free access till the end of June. The article reports on the melting point depression and modeling of five ionic liquids (ILs) in carbon dioxide compressed up to 100 bar. The ionic liquids that have been studied include 1-butyl-; 1-ethyl- ; 1- allyl- and 1-2-hydroxyethyl- 3-methylimidazolium chlorides and the ammonium based cation choline combined with dihydrogen phosphate anion. These ionic liquids are of importance in biopolymer processing.
