[Paper] Enhanced delivery of quercetin by encapsulation in poloxamers by supercritical antisolvent process

We have studied  the encapsulation of quercetin antioxidants in poloxamer surfactants (Pluronic (R)) with the objective of achieving a formulation with an enhanced solubility in aqueous media that can improve the bioavailability of this compound. A Supercritical Antisolvent (SAS) precipitation technique has been employed. (go to journal)

[Open source software] Equations of State

We present a set of MATLAB programs for the calculation of phase equilibrium and other thermodynamic properties using different equations of state (classical cubic equations, cubic equations with excess Gibbs energy mixing rules, group contribution equations and SAFT equations). All  programs are open-source and have been designed to be easily reusable using an object-oriented programming […]

SHYMAN Project reaches the midpoint. Hydrothermal synthesis of nanoparticles is for real -news-

Nanoparticles are changing the way we conceive materials, boosting novel applications by tailored design of properties. ShyMan Project (ca. 6 million euro) is developing hydrothermal technology in supercritical water by a combination of the expertise of universities (Nottingham, Valladolid, etc) and companies (Solvay, REPSOL, PPG, etc.). Valladolid university is the second biggest partner with a […]
