[Award]: LightEnergy project, led by researchers at HPP group, get the second place in the national phase of Yuzz Awards 2016

LightEnergy is a business project on a hydrogen storage system lighter and more compact. It is achived by the deposition of hydrides over aerogels in combination with microwaves, which manages to give greater autonomy flight of drones.

The LightEnergy project, promoted by researchers from the High Pressure Processes group of University of Valladolid, Luis Miguel Sanz Moral, Miriam Rueda Noriega, Ángel Martin and Alexander Navarrete has won the second position YUZZ Awards 2016, which were missed last Wendesday, October 26th, in Madrid. (See the awards ceremony here)

Yuzz is dedicated to training, support and free advice from a business plan for entrepreneurs between 18 and 31 years. The program is run by the International Centre Santander Entrepreneurship (CISE), is sponsored by Banco Santander, through Santander Universities, and the collaboration of the University of Valladolid through its Science Park. The Yuzz initiative began in 2009 as a technology incubator of great ideas. Since then it has grown exponentially, reaching 47 YUZZ centers throughout Spain. In its previous six editions they were created more than 500 companies participated in the 2015 edition 900 entrepreneurs with 710 projects.

LightEnergy was already elected last June as the best idea YUZZ Valladolid center, a distinction that won a place to travel to Silicon Valley next to the 48 brightest participants in the current issue of YUZZ. The objective of this experience is to inspire and empower young entrepreneurs to accelerate the development of its startups, providing connections to the internationalization of their projects and seeking funding.

Upon his return, the 49 young people attended Ciudad Grupo Santander in Boadilla del Monte where  representatives of Banco Santander, CISE and associates composed of the jury that selected the winners of the national award.

The project has already been awarded. The Business Plan started its course with Vivero Award (12,000€) organized by Junta de Castillla y León. This award amount would being used to create a prototype. Then in Spin2016, with Indra Model2Market Award with 10,000 euros and access to Red Emprendia programs to formalize the project. LightEnergy was selected this time from among 463 projects from 12 countries..

Yuzz 2017 edition already has open enrollment period on the official website of Yuzz (http://yuzz.org.es/), which will last until December 2nd.
