Danilo Cantero currently works as Research Scientist at Renmatix, Pennsylvania. Danilo is a Chemical Engineer graduated from the National University of Córdoba (Argentina), Master Science and PhD in Thermodynamic Engineering of Fluids graduated from the University of Valladolid (Spain).
Danilo Cantero has been researching in the field of biomass transformation into added value products using supercritical water as reaction medium during the last 7 years. Danilo Cantero authored 16 research papers, 1 book chapter and 17 oral presentations in international conferences. Danilo Cantero has a vast experience in design, construction and operation of lab and pilot scale processes dealing with supercritical fluids and solids handling.
Danilo Cantero has developed a novel process called Fast-Sugars at Valladolid University. Through this process it is possible to convert cellulosic biomass into glucose selectively and extremely fast, in less than half second. This process is 100,000 times faster than the tradition enzymatic hydrolysis. This process will be one of the key solutions to achieve the sustainable production of chemicals and fuels from renewable resources.
