University of Valladolid presents the winner projects of the 7th Prometeo Awards

This initiative has as main objective to protect the projects of end of career, end of masters and doctoral theses of the university students

The Chancellor of the University of Valladolid, Daniel Miguel San José, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education of the Government of Castilla y León, Juan Casado Canales and the director of the Department of Innovation of the General Foundation of the University of Valladolid (FUNGE ), Yolanda Calvo Conde, present the twenty projects of students of the University of Valladolid that have been awarded in the seventh edition of the Prometheus Awards of support and incentive for the development of market-oriented prototypes organized by FUNGE within the plan Transfer of University-Business Knowledge (T-CUE).

The winning students have received specific training in industrial and intellectual property from the Patents Unit of the University of Valladolid; The work has been protected and awarded with an economic compensation of € 1,000 each. Of the projects presented in this edition, thirteen correspond to patents and seven to software registrations. The Prometheus Awards aim to stimulate and promote the application and collaboration between knowledge-generating agents and transfer specialists, as well as promoting the culture of innovation and creativity in order to achieve a set of products that can meet the needs of the market. These prototypes should be fully functional in such a way as to enable concept testing and / or practical demonstrations to interested parties.

Among the awarded projects are four presented by researchers from the High Presssure Processes Group:

  • Suite de simuladores de procesos de ingeniería química (SIMIQ – Suite) by Álvaro Cabeza Sanchez
  • Material poroso o en celosía de reducido peso y reducida conductividad acústica y térmica, by Luis Miguel Sanz Moral
  • Planta piloto multilecho para el fraccionamiento de biomasa, by Gianluca Gallina
  • Transformación hidrotermal del dioxido de carbono en compuestos organicos usando material micro o mesoporoso de óxido metálico como catalizador, by Daniel Román González
