Dr. Marta Fraile Arranz began her chemical engineering studies at the University of Valladolid in 2001. During 2008 she interned at the Agricultural Technology Institute of Castilla y LeĂłn (ITACyL) for 3 months. In 2009 she began work on her Master’s Degree in Research in Fluid Thermodynamics Engineering. In June 2010, with the guidance of MarĂ­a JosĂ© Cocero, she started her PhD studies in the High Pressure Group of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Valladolid. In September of 2011 she
was at the Instituto de Biologia Experimental e TecnolĂłgica (iBET) in Oeiras, Portugal for 3 months.
In addition, she is studying psychology at The National Distance Education University (UNED).
During her PhD studies she worked with encapsulation and precipitation processes by means of supercritical fluids, focusing on the application of such methods to encapsulate active compounds in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries.
She worked as a postdoctoral fellow in supercritical extraction process at The BioComposites Centre, Bangor University (Gwynedd, United Kingdom) in 2014.
