PhD studentship – Novel electrochemical methods for the production of cleaning agents to use in air purification (U. Lancaster)

A fully funded PhD studentship is available in collaboration with industry.

Start date: July 2017

The project will investigate novel electrochemical methods for production of gaseous cleaning agents for air purification, and is in collaboration with Smart Separations, a vibrant and exciting start-up company that aims to be one of the leaders in microfiltration and separation technology (more information on Smart Separations here:

The project will be based at the Department of Engineering in Lancaster University, a research-intensive, top-10 UK university in the North West of England (, and it is fully funded for three years (tax free stipend of £15,000/year). 

Criteria: Chemical Engineering/Materials Science/Chemistry graduate, preferably with some laboratory experience and interest in electrochemistry.
